From Wayland, Ralph began studying and playing guitar as at age 9 and later switched over to bass to play in his high school band.  He started playing in clubs at age 14, such as The Bastille in Newport, RI with “Gashouse Dave”.  He has played in many bands since the early ‘70’s including:

- The Big Screamin’ McGrew Band

- Bernath-Ferguson Band

- Gary Bernath Band, Dream Work

– John & Rachel Nickerson

- Dave Costa & Little Sister

- Jeff Lowe Band

- Mark Hennessy & The Slackers

- Hazy, Hot & Humid

- Paul Good, Mike Dumas & Platform Soul. 

Ralph has been playing bass with Joe Curley & John Capezutto for the past 10 years,.  In addition to playing with The Coolerators, Ralph also plays with Sheri Lynn & Similar Features Band from Cape Cod.  He has also recently shared stage with Ricky “King” Russell, Toni-Lynn Washington, Gashouse Dave, ’57 Heavy, Splash of Blues and The Moondance Blues Band.
